Mallahan, Au.D. Michael Mallahan, Au.D.


Dr. Mallahan has been the director of the Hearing & Balance Lab, P.C. for more than 10 years. Mike was born and raised in Everett. He began practice with Dr. J. Patrick Lynch in 1981 at Pacific Ear, Nose and Throat Clinic downtown.  He was instrumental in establishing the first county wide

Dr. Mallahan has been the director of the Hearing & Balance Lab, P.C. for more than 10 years. Mike was born and raised in Everett. He began practice with Dr. J. Patrick Lynch in 1981 at Pacific Ear, Nose and Throat Clinic downtown.  He was instrumental in establishing the first county wide newborn hearing screening program in the State of Washington. He is regionally recognized for his expertise in providing assessment and direction of rehabilitative care for patients with balance disorders.  

Mike and his wife Laura, have 3 sons. Mike is an avid soccer fan. He coaches, plays, referees and is president of a local soccer club.  He is also involved with Healing the Children, a volunteer service organization dedicated to providing medical care for children in countries all over the world.


Kingham, Au.D. A. Nichloe Kingham, Au.D.


Nichole joined the Hearing & Balance Lab in 2004.  She has a passion for the Deaf community and an interest in neurotology.  Nichole began her career at the University of Washington where she obtained a masters degree in Audiology and her doctorate from A.T. Still University.  Nichole is known for her patience and persistence in obtaining the best possible outcome for those who come to The Hearing & Balance Lab for diagnosis or treatment of hearing loss.  

Nichole hails from Arvada Colorado.  She married her husband Jeff in 1999.  She enjoys reading, watching movies and listening to great music.  Nichole and Jeff have three beautiful children.


Caldwell, Au.D. Lori Caldwell, Au.D.


Dr. Lori Caldwell has been practicing Audiology since 2000.  A Seattle native, she earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Washington.  She then received her clinical Doctorate from The School of Audiology through the Pennsylvania College of Optometry.  Before joining The Hearing and Balance Lab, Dr. Caldwell’s previous experience has been in otolaryngology clinics performing diagnostic hearing assessments, hearing rehabilitation and hearing conservation.  She loves this field immensely as she finds that helping people to optimize their hearing is incredibly rewarding by use of the innovative technology available nowadays combined with communication strategies. 

Outside of work, Dr. Caldwell enjoys a variety of activities with her husband and young daughters including exploring the great Pacific Northwest in their fifth-wheel trailer.  She also loves gardening, boating, scrap booking and eating gourmet meals cooked by her husband.


Miller, HIS Angel Miller, HIS


Angel joined The Hearing & Balance Lab several years ago.  She obtained a degree in Business from Washington State University and is an avid Cougar football fan!  Angel soon realized her passion was for helping others and wanting to go the extra mile to make sure people with hearing loss have every opportunity to hear to the best of their ability.  To this end, Angel obtained her degree in Hearing Instrument Studies, which allowed her to pursue her ambition for hearing healthcare.  She is a member of the International Institute of Hearing Instrument Studies and is The Hearing & Balance Lab’s hearing instrument specialist. 

Angel was born and raised in Silverdale, Washington.  She was married to Doug in 2003.  Angel enjoys spending time with family and with her young daughter, Ellie.  She and Doug love to ski and to be in the great outdoors.


Bahl, BA Ryan Bahl, BA


Ryan joined the Hearing & Balance Lab staff in July 2007 as the Audiology Assistant.  He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Western Washington University where he focused on Audiology. 

Ryan was born and raised in Edmonds, Washington and is the second of three children.  He enjoys watching movies, listening to a variety of music, and swimming.


Bong Amber Bong
Billing Specialist

Amber joined The Hearing & Balance Lab staff in June 2005 after graduating from Ecola Bible College, located in Cannon Beach, Oregon. She is our Billing Specialist.

Amber grew up in a small town in Eastern Washington and is the eighth of ten children. She enjoys running long distance, hiking, cooking, painting and writing.

James Jane James
Medical Receptionist

Jane joined The Hearing & Balance Lab in November of 2005, bringing with her seven years of medical reception experience. She was raised in Honolulu Hawaii and attended the University of Hawaii.

She married Glen in 1985 and settled in Marysville after her husband retired from 24 years of Naval service in 2002. They have two daughters and enjoy volunteering with the Marysville Strawberry Festival, camping, hiking and watching movies.

Anita Miller has been a great asset to The Hearing & Balance Lab since 2006. She is the friendly voice on the other side of the telephone and works diligently to keep our office running smoothly. Anita enjoys helping our patients receive the best care possible.

Anita is married to Dwight and has two sons and four grandchildren. Besides spoiling the grandkids, Anita and Dwight enjoy spending time at their cabin near the summit of Stevens Pass.
