Michael Mallahan

Dr. Mallahan has been the director of the Hearing & Balance Lab, P.C. since 1995. He was born and raised in Everett. He was instrumental in establishing the first county wide newborn hearing screening program more than 10 years ago here in the State of Washington. He is regionally recognized for his expertise in providing assessment and direction of rehabilitative care for patients with balance disorders.

Dr. Mallahan has been married for 28 years. He and his wife have 3 sons. He is an avid soccer fan and enjoys coaching, playing and refereeing in local soccer games. He is president of a local soccer club and of course, is a season ticket Sounders supporter. Dr. Mallahan's greatest joy is serving children in Guatemala with medical mission teams through the Healing the Children organization.

A. Nichole Kingham

Dr. Kingham joined the Hearing & Balance Lab in 2004. She has a passion for the Deaf community and an interest in neuro-otology. Dr. Kingham was awarded a masters degree in Audiology at the University of Washington. She obtained her clinical doctorate from A.T. Still University.

Dr. Kingham is known for her patience and persistence in obtaining the best possible outcome for those who come for diagnosis or treatment of hearing loss. She is dedicated to working with those with hearing loss and their families to find solutions for better hearing and thus, better quality of life.

In her spare time, Dr. Kingham enjoys writing and teaching. She is currently involved with a project that will help private practice Audiologists train Audiology Assistants.

Dr. Kingham hails from Colorado. She has three beautiful children. She enjoys reading, watching movies and listening to great music.

Lori Caldwell

Dr. Lori Caldwell has been practicing Audiology since 2000. A Seattle native, she earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Washington. She then received her clinical Doctorate from Salus University. Before joining The Hearing and Balance Lab, Dr. Caldwell's previous experience was in otolaryngology clinics performing diagnostic hearing assessments, hearing rehabilitation and hearing conservation. She loves this field immensely as she finds that helping people to optimize their hearing is incredibly rewarding by use of the innovative technology available nowadays combined with communication strategies.

Outside of work, Dr. Caldwell enjoys a variety of activities with her husband and young daughters including cycling, swimming, hiking, camping and boating. She also loves gardening, scrap booking and eating gourmet meals cooked by her husband.

Angel Miller

Angel joined The Hearing & Balance Lab in 2003. She obtained a degree in Business from Washington State University and is an avid Cougar fan. She enjoys attending Cougar football games each fall! After joining The Hearing & Balance Lab, Angel quickly realized her passion was for helping others and wanting to go the extra mile to make sure people with hearing loss have every opportunity to hear to the best of their ability. To this end, Angel obtained her degree in Hearing Instrument Studies, which allowed her to pursue her ambition for hearing healthcare.

Angel was born and raised on the Kitsap Peninsula and is the oldest of three girls. She married her husband in 2003 and welcomed their daughter in 2006. Angel enjoys downhill skiing, swimming, yoga, and traveling. Spending quality time together as a family is especially important and is how most of her weekends are occupied.

Ryan Bahl

Ryan joined the Hearing & Balance Lab staff in July 2007 as an Audiology Assistant. He obtained his Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Western Washington University where he focused on Audiology. Working as an Audiology Assistant has solidified Ryan's desire to become an Audiologist. He is currently in the Doctor of Audiology program at the University of Washington.

Ryan was born and raised in Edmonds, Washington. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, hiking, swimming, watching movies and listening to a variety of music.

Melissa Wageman

Melissa joined the Hearing and Balance Lab staff in 2009 as the Audiology Assistant. She is well known for her thoroughness and her caring attitude toward patients. Melissa obtained her Bachelor's degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences from Washington State University. Go Cougs!

Melissa grew up in Richland Washington and now resides in Lake Stevens with her husband Reggie and dog Sampson. She enjoys horse back riding, rafting, camping and sailing.

Christine Baryayebwa

Christine is originally from Uganda, East Africa. She graduated as a Registered Nurse at Mulago school of Nursing and Midwifery and briefly worked at International Hospital Kampala until she moved to the United States in 2007. She also volunteered for The Uganda Red Cross and for Right to Play Uganda while in college and she immensely enjoyed the experience.

She is the first of 5 children and she enjoys visiting with her family back in Uganda from time to time. In her free time, Christine enjoys writing plays, ballroom dancing and scouting for Young African women immigrants to "mentor".

Karlene joined The Hearing & Balance Lab in November of 2009 as the Billing Specialist. She was born and raised in the Everett area where she now resides with her four children. She loves spending her time with her family and friends.

When she isn't working, Karlene loves to travel. Before joining our team, she worked on a cruise ship allowing her to travel and see all aspects of the world. Some of the most fascinating places she has visited included the Cook Islands, Russia and Italy.

Anita Miller has been a great asset to The Hearing & Balance Lab since 2006. She is the friendly voice on the other side of the telephone and works diligently to keep our office running smoothly. Anita enjoys helping our patients receive the best care possible.

Anita has been married for 35 years and has two sons that also reside in the Everett area. She has five grandchildren and adores each one of them! Besides spoiling and spending time with the grandkids, Anita and her husband enjoy spending time at their cabin near Lake Wenatchee. Some of Anita's favorite pastimes include golfing, interior decorating and traveling.
