Testimonials
I am writing regarding our recent experience with The Hearing & Balance Lab in Mill Creek, WA. I can’t say enough to express my family’s gratitude for the expertise, kind and considerate service we received. My 86 year old mother’s hearing loss is severe. Her hearing aids were out dated and not up to the caliber needed for her severe hearing loss. Dr. Kingham’s expertise, competent treatment and subsequently securing the superior and affordable pair of hearing aids was incredible. Now my mother can hear a whisper, smile, laughs and is included in all socializing. Seeing my mother break down in tears of joy over hearing was a moment of personal joy. This has changed our lives! Thank you Dr. Kingham and thank you Hearing & Balance Lab!

I have found everyone at The Hearing & Balance Lab to be kind, compassionate, concerned and extraordinarily helpful. I so appreciate the time and expertise that has been provided to me. I had no clue how significant my hearing loss had become until I went through the testing. The road back to being able to hear my family and feel like I can participate in life again has been an enlightening journey. I am very grateful especially to Dr. Kingham for her patience and perseverance in getting the ‘right’ fit for me. Thank you!

I found my overall experience from beginning to end at The Hearing & Balance Lab very positive. The entire staff was very professional, courteous, and caring. They took their time with me answering all questions carefully and anticipating some of the problems I might have adjusting to my new instruments. They seemed genuinely committed to giving me a positive, rewarding experience. They use of the LACE computer program was extremely helpful. It taught me to be a better listener in a variety of situations giving me techniques to handle my hearing loss and to handle my hearing aids in general. I would highly recommend their services to anyone with hearing loss.

I have to say that all of you at The Hearing & Balance Lab have been so warm and caring to me over the last two years that I can’t imagine going anywhere else for my hearing needs. You are all wonderful at making your clients feel no pressure, at ease and so welcome from the very first visit. Just like a member of the family. You have a very special office/staff and it comes across every time I visit.

It’s not that I couldn’t hear, I just wasn’t hearing accurately. I finally realized I needed to do something when “mustangs” were mentioned in a meeting at work. Obviously, they weren’t talking about horses and I later found out that someone had said, “must have”. My hearing evaluation proved that I had a moderate hearing loss and my doctor suggested trying Lyric - I walked out of the office that day truly hearing for the first time in years. These are some of the things that amazed me and delighted me since I hadn’t heard them for many years:
- The sound of my own voice
- When you shampoo your hair, your fingers make noise when they massage your scalp
- Rain makes a sound when it hits the windshield of your car while you are driving
- Paper towels in the ladies room make a lot of noise
- Rubbing your fingers together makes a sound which may be irritating to others
- People who click their pens in meetings are irritating
- Computer keyboards are noisy
- Alarm clocks are really loud- I just couldn’t hear mine
I was initially interested in the Lyric because it didn’t show, but have come to love it for the natural acoustical qualities of the sound it provides me. The staff encouraged me to try the LACE program, which I did – it helped me to fine tune my hearing. After having the Lyric for a few weeks, my hearing was re-evaluated with the Lyric in place and I tested normal. This was my measurement of real success. The doctors and staff have been very supportive and accommodating during this first year of adjustment – I couldn’t be happier.
